City seeks pool manager

The City of Albany is acceptingapplicationsfora managerofthecitypooland lifeguards for the summer.

To apply for either position, pick up an application form at City Hall at 425 S. Second St.

Applicantsforpoolmanager must be at least 18 years old. Lifeguards must beatleast16andpassaRed Cross Lifesaving Course, whichthecitywilloffer.The pool typically employs 1520lifeguardseachsummer.

City secretary Kenisha Lucas encouraged candidates to apply as soon as possible.

“We had to turn some kids away the last few years because they waited too long,” she said.

Lucas said she has already received some applications for lifeguard.

The city will begin taking reservations to rent the pool for parties on May 6, according to Lucas. Once a pool manager is hired, more information will be released regarding pool hours and party slots.
