MISD to host veterans, meal

Moran graduates Johnnie Hise and Hannah Rogers became the first Moran FFA members to receive the American FFA Degree Saturday, Nov. 4 at the FFA National Convention in Indianapolis.

More than 69,000 FFA members – including Moran FFA officers Ellis Hise, Cotten Campbell, Caleb York, Kacenda Thompkins, and Jayla Bussell – attended the weeklong convention.

Moran superintendent Dr. John Denson received an Honorary American Degree.

On the trip home, the Morancontingentdetoured toLouisville,Kentuckytfor a visit to Churchill Downs.

“We visited a museum and did a tour of the track,” Denson said.

The group also visited Hot Springs National Park in Arkansas.

Competitions

MoranFFAwillcompete in the district LDE contest at 2:00 p.m. Monday, Nov. 13 at Cisco College.

Also,TractorTechteams will compete in contests Thursday, Nov. 9 (today) and Friday, Nov. 17.

Veterans Day

Moran will hold a Veterans Day program at 11:30 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 9(today)intheMorangym.

“Different grade levels will sing songs and we’ll do a flag folding,” Moran principal Jo Hise said. “Jeff Martinwillsing,too.I’llask anyonewhoservedtostand up and be recognized.”

Lunch will be served following the program in the cafeteria.

Thanksgiving Meal Moran will serve its Thanksgivingmealat11:00 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 16 in the gym.

“There’ll be plenty of room, and it’ll be easy for parents to sit with their families,” Jo Hise said.

Cost is $4.75 for adults and $3.05 for students.
