Kathryn Jordan, age 60 of Albany, passed away Saturday, March 18, 2023. Funeral services were held Wednesday, March 22 at Bethel Assembly with Rev. Luke Spraberry officiating. Interment followed in the Johnson Cemetery.

Kathryn Ann Wagman was born Jan. 30, 1963, in Odessa, Texas to Richard Harold Wagman and Mollie Childers Wagman. She married Cody Jordan March 12, 1994 in Albany.

Kathryn will always be remembered for her kind heart and compassion for others. She loved to cook, gather with family and cheer on her Dallas Cowboys.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her cousin, Howell Dodd.

Kathryn was raised in Minooka, Illinois before moving to Stephenville, Texas. Kathryn made many lifelong friendships while in Stephenville where they refer to her as their “Mother Hen.”

Eventually, she and Cody moved to Albany, Texas where they have lived for the past 25 years. Albany had always held a special place in her heart due to the family heritage in town.

Kathryn was a devout Christian who never missed an opportunity to give testimony to those in need. Kathryn would often take in the downtrodden, provide them shelter and food, in return she only asked that they hear her speak of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, in the hopes that they would find salvation. Often this would result in her kindness being taken advantage of and her generosity being abused. This never dissuaded her from trying again at the next opportunity to impact someone’s life.

Kathryn loved her family dearly, never failing to tell each of them how much she loved them. She showered her grandchildren, nieces and nephews with hugs and kisses and bestowed upon them her own loving nicknames of choice.

Kathryn lived for the holidays and would always have her home decorated accordingly. Her favorite times would be when the entire family would get together, sharing and making memories. She valued family traditions and would impart them to her family in the hopes that they would continue on and be passed along. Kathryn never missed an opportunity to get dressed up in the fanciest dress for these gatherings which was a tradition passed on to her from her grandparents.

Kathryn loved to host get togethers and took enjoyment out of seeing others having fun and being happy. She especially enjoyed hosting Dallas Cowboys watch parties.

Kathryn had a spirit about her that drew others to her, and she would make everyone feel important, wanted and needed. She was a one-in-a-million person with a heart of gold and the soul of a saint. She will be missed more than words can describe.

Kathryn is survived by her husband, Cody Jordan of Albany; one daughter, Kimberly Darby of Abilene; two grandsons, Shawn Darby and Jacob Darby; one brother, Ron Wagman and wife Robin of Grand Prairie; one sister, Mindy Ary and husband Chris of Albany; nieces and nephews, Autumn, Cutter, Summer and Erik; and numerous cousins and close friends.
