Rain delays softball opening

TheAlbany SoftballAssociation will take a second try at holding its opening ceremonies at 5:30 p.m. Friday, March 29 at Webb Park.

The event was originally scheduled for Thursday, March 21, but was postponed because of rain.

A total of 92 players will be introduced as well as the 25 volunteers and board members who have volunteered their time this season.

The ASA is sponsoring 12 teams in five age groups this season. Nine teams will play league schedules in 12U, 10U, 6U, and Tee-Ball divisions.

Albany will have competitive teamsin12U,10U and 8U divisions.
