David M. Dukes 

David M. Dukes of Abilene was born on Feb. 15, 1976 in Abilene, Texas to Jimmy Dukes and Catherine Burton Dukes. He died on March 14, 2019.

Funeral services were held March 16, 2019 at Northwest Church of Christ in Abilene.

David worked at BMC Construction Materials, formerly Abilene Lumber, for almost 20 years. 

David loved movies and comic books. He was a fan of anything related to Marvel comics, Spider Man, Dead Pool, and Avengers.

CINDY GATES MILLER

A celebration honoring the life of Cindy Miller will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 16, 2019 at Davis-Morris Funeral Home in Brownwood. Interment will follow in Clear Creek Cemetery. 

Visitation will be Thursday, March 14 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. 

Cindy was called home on Monday, March 11, 2019, following a courageous battle with cancer. Throughout her illness she always remained positive and a light to those who loved her.

PAT JENKINS

Patsy Jenkins, 84, died Saturday, Feb. 23, 2019, at an Abilene care facility. Funeral services were Tuesday, Feb. 26, at the First Baptist Church in Albany. Burial was Tuesday at the Terrace Cemetery in Post, Texas. Services were under the direction of Bailey-Howard Funeral Home in Clyde.

Patsy was born Feb. 5, 1935, in Winnsboro, Texas, to Morris Zeigler and Icie (Mills) Reid. She was a 1950 graduate of Post High School. She spent many years as a home sitter as an aide to the elderly. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Albany.

Delton Peacock, age 80 of Brownwood, passed away Wednesday, Feb. 13, 2019. Graveside funeral services were held Friday, Feb. 15 at the Albany Cemetery with Rev. Jeff Turner officiating. Interment followed under the direction of Morehart Mortuary.

INEZ BENDA

Inez Benda was born Aug. 18, 1922, in the Pueblo Community near Putnam, Texas, to Chester and Emogene (Jeter) Allen and died Feb. 13, 2019, in Quitman, Texas. 

She was raised in the Pueblo Community and graduated from Moran High School and Abilene Business School. 

She later worked for the General Motors Corporation and was honored by earning Oldsmobile’s Nationwide Highest Achievement Award (twice) as part of the Oldsmobile Business Management Club.

DORIS HUDSON

Doris Hudson, age 90 of Moran, passed away Thursday, Feb. 7, 2019. 

Funeral services were held Monday, Feb. 11 at the First Baptist Church of Moran with Rev. Jeff Pleasant officiating. Interment followed in the Moran Cemetery under the direction of Morehart Mortuary.

Doris Marie Kidd was born Feb. 2, 1929 in Coleman, Texas to parents, Alton Boyd Kidd and Fleeta Olive Sikes Kidd. She graduated from Coleman High School in 1947. 

RENEE KAN

Renee Anna Kan, age 41 of Midland, passed away Feb. 8, 2019 in Midland, Texas. Funeral services were held Wednesday, Feb. 13 at Gunsight Baptist Church with Rev. Rex Boggs officiating. Interment followed in the Breckenridge Cemetery under the direction of Morehart Mortuary. 

Renee Anna Townson was born on Dec. 30, 1977 in Lubbock, Texas. When she was two, her family moved to Breckenridge where she attended school and graduated with honors from Breckenridge High School in 1996. 

BARNEY TABOR

Barney Tabor, age 77, passed away Feb. 5, 2019 at Eastland Memorial Hospital. Funeral services were held Saturday, Feb. 9 at First Baptist Church of Moran with Pastor Jerry Shields officiating. Interment followed in the Moran Cemetery under the direction of Morehart Mortuary. 

Barney was born in Gorman, Texas on June 10, 1941 to Boyd and Ruel Rice Tabor. He was raised in Moran, Texas and graduated from Moran High School in 1959. 

Barney served in the Army National Guard for six years. He married Karla (Nena) Bickley on July 1, 1966. 

MARY ELLEN WILKINSON

Mary Ellen Wilkinson, 96, passed away on Feb. 4, 2019  in Wichita Falls, Texas.

A funeral service was held on Monday, Feb. 11, at Hampton Vaughan Crestview Funeral Home Chapel in Wichita Falls, Texas, with Pastor Bobby Gonzales officiating.   Burial followed at Moran Cemetery, Moran, Texas.  

Mrs. Wilkinson was born on Apr. 16, 1922, in Moran, Texas. She was retired from Food Service at Wichita Falls State Hospital.

GLENN KEY

Wortham Glenn Key, 80, of Albany, passed away Saturday, Feb. 2, 2019 at Lyndale Senior Living in Abilene, Texas. 

Funeral services were held Tuesday, Feb. 5 at Matthews Memorial Presbyterian Church with Rev. Anthony Ceder officiating. Interment followed in the Albany Cemetery under the direction of Morehart Mortuary. 

He was the fifth of seven children born to Delmon Wortham and Letha Bell Key. He was born on Oct. 13, 1938 in Throckmorton, Texas. 

Following graduation from Throckmorton High School, Glenn worked in the oil field and farmed.
